IDEX 2005 Abu Dhabi, [12 February 2005 - 17 February 2005], the 7th edition - is the premier land and naval defense exhibition serving the Middle East and Asia-is a highly successful series.

IDEX 2005 is a unique opportunity for the key decision-makers from across the world, defence ministers, chiefs of staff and senior officers from army, navy and air force to network with defence equipment manufacturers and systems solutions providers. 

Under the patronage of President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of UAE Armed Forces, will launch, Sunday, the 7th "IDEX 2005" International Exhibition at Abu Dhabi Exhibitions grounds. 

An official in the Public Exhibition Authority said that IDEX 2005 has witnessed qualitative leaps forward since its inception in 1993. IDEX 2005 will witness the participation of over 905 global companies in addition to 68 official delegations from Arab and foreign countries. 

One-day Gulf Defence Conference will be convened on Saturday on the margins of the Exhibition, whereby experts specialized in defence studies and strategies will partake, adding that the Conference will explore the plight of Iraq and its effects on security and defence in the region.
