What type of visa
do you need for your visit to Czech republic?
- SHORT-TERM
VISA
- Transit
visa: granted for transit through and up to a five-day
stay for each individual trip. Fee: 2000.- CZK (approx.
$80 CAD), multiple transit visa - Fee 3600.- CZK
(approx. $150 CAD).
- Ninety-day
visa: allows you to enter Czech republic only once for a
period of of time indicated in its designation, i.e. for
up to 90 days. Fee: 1800.- CZK (approx $75 CAD), 3600.-
CZK multiple entry (approx.$150 CAD) allows you to enter
Czech republic from any country as often as you wish
during the validity of the visa, maximum three months.
- Exit
visa: granted by Foreign Police at Olsanska 2, Praha 3
or by Foreign Police Departments in all regional towns,
upon request of a foreign national staying/residing in
the CR without a visa if that person intends to stay on
the Czech territory longer. It authorizes that person to

Documentation required with the application for "BUSINESS VISA"

The "Business Visa" belongs to the category of visas for over 90-days and enables to stay in the Czech territory for the period of 1 (one) year. Visa is being granted to an applicant by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in accordance with the permission of the Immigration Authority of the Czech Republic after presenting the application for visa together with following documents:
a) passport; the period of its validity must exceed the expected duration of stay by at least 90 days;
b) 2 (two) photographs;
c) proof of a health insurance policy covering the duration of the applicant´s stay in the Czech territory; or proof that the reimbursement of the costs of medical care has been provided for in a different way, i.e. when a health insurance is covered under a different legal regulation;
d) proof of finances to cover his stay in the Czech Republic, in the amount stipulated by law which is the double of the subsistence minimum, i.e. by CZK 4,380,- monthly for the period of the intended stay;
e) documents confirming the purpose of stay in the Czech territory, i.e. a notarized copy of the Trade Certificate or Trade Licence issued by the District Trade Office and the registration in the Business Registration of the Czech Republic;
f) proof of lodging arrangements in the Czech territory, i.e. the orginal document bearing a notarized signature of the landlord and containing his agreement with putting up the applicant throughout his stay in the Czech territory. Such documents shall be deemed to include either a property owner´s statement in this respect or lease or sublease agreement in original or notarized copy thereof;
g) certificate of clean criminal record in the Czech Republic, and a similar document issued by the relevant authority of the country of which the applicant is citizen or in which he resides, or has been residing continuously for six months in the last three years, or and affidavit if that country does not issue any such documents. The obligation to furnish a certificate of clean criminal record in the Czech Republic shall be deemed met if the applicant has filled an application for such certificate with the embassy and agrees that the certificate will be forwarded directly to the respective Immigration Authority of the Czech Republic.

An official translation into the Czech language must be attached to all documents that have been issued in a country other than the Czech Republic. Such documents must also contain an apostille or a legalization clause.

The immigration authority of the Czech Republic shall deal with an application for the purpose of studies within 60 days of filling the application.

"STUDENT´S VISA"
The "Student´s Visa" is in the category of visas for over 90-days and is being granted to an applicant by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in accordance with the permission of the Immigration Authority of the Czech Republic after presenting the application for visa together with following documents:
a) passport; the period of its validity must exceed the expected duration of stay by at least 90 days;
b) 2 (two) photographs;
c) proof of a health insurance policy in place, covering the duration of the applicant´s stay in the Czech territory; or proof that the reimbursement of the costs of medical care has been provided for in a different way, i.e. when a health insurance is covered under a different legal regulation;
d) proof of finances to cover his stay in the Czech Republic, in the amount stipulated by law which is the double of the subsistence minimum, i.e. by CZK 4,380,- monthly for the period of the intended stay. An applicant under 18 years of age shall present proof of half the above amount.
e) documents confirming the purpose of stay in the Czech territory, such as notarized copy of certificate confirming acceptance to studies, fellowship or some other educational stay;
f) proof of lodging arrangements in the Czech territory, i.e. an orginal document bearing a notarized signature of the landlord and containing his agreement with putting up the applicant throughout his stay in the Czech territory. Such documents shall be deemed to include either an owner´s statement or colege statement in this respect or lease or sublease agreement in original or notarized copy thereof.
g) certificate of clean criminal record in the Czech Republic, and a similar document issued by the relevant authority of the country of which the applicant is citizen or in which he resides, or has been residing continuously for six months in the last three years, or and affidavit if that country does not issue any such documents. The "Residence Permit - Visa" is in the category of visas for over 90-days and is being granted to an applicant by the Immigration Authority of the Czech Republic after presenting the application for residence permit together with the application for short-time visa to take over the residence permit through the Embassy of the Czech Republic and accompanied by the following documents:
a) valid travel document (passport);
b) 3 (three) photographs;
c) proof of a health insurance policy, covering the duration of the applicant´s stay in the Czech territory; or proof that the reimbursement of the costs of medical care has been provided for in a different way, i.e. when a health insurance is covered under a different legal regulation;
d) proof of finances to cover his stay in the Czech Republic, in the amount stipulated by law which is the double of the subsistence minimum, i.e. by CZK 4,380,- monthly for the period of the intended stay. An applicant under 18 years of age shall present proof of half the above amount. Employer´s salary certificate, husband´s or parents´ statement to ensure the financial means for the applicant or certificate of the transfer the pension allowances to the Czech Republic;
e) documents confirming the purpose of stay in the Czech territory, such as notarized copy of marriage certificate or former citizenship in the Czech Republic;
f) proof of lodging arrangements in the Czech territory, i.e. an orginal document bearing a notarized signature of the landlord and containing his agreement with putting up the applicant throughout his stay in the Czech territory. Such documents shall be deemed to include either a property owner´s statement in this respect or lease or sublease agreement in original or notarized copy thereof.
